PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To primarily provide an inexpensive and compact interleaver which adequately demultiplexes wavelength-multiplexed light into lights of individual wavelengths and multiplexes lights of individual wavelengths without using a polarization beam splitter and to provide, in addition to the primary object, an interleaver in which the transmitted wavelength does not vary in an etalon unit even when the temperature or atmospheric pressure varies in the environment in which the interleaver is used. SOLUTION: The interleaver 1 is provided with an input-output portion 2 for inputting and outputting light, a light path shifting portion 3 for shifting an optical path of the incident light, and a wavelength multiplexing/ demultiplexing portion 4 for demultiplexing the incident light to lights of different wavelengths or multiplexing the incident lights.
