PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave oven of which, the size of a waveguide is enabled to shorten by arranging a pair of openings and high frequency dispersion device mounted to the openings in a row in succession to a magnetron at the bottom part of a cooking chamber, capable of uniformly diffusing high frequency in every directions in a cooking chamber. SOLUTION: A center of a first opening is formed to the back side of the waveguide and located at the position corresponding to odd multiple of the half wave length of the wave length in a high frequency tube, and a center of a second opening is formed to the front side of the waveguide and located at a position slightly shifted from the position corresponding to odd multiple of the half wave length of the wave length in a high frequency tube. Or, all of the center of the first opening and the center of the second opening are formed to the position corresponding to odd multiple of the half wave length of the wave length in a high frequency tube, and the size of the second opening is formed slightly smaller than that of the first opening. Or, all of the center of the first opening and the center of the second opening are formed to the position corresponding to odd multiple of the half wave length of the wave length in a high frequency tube, and the second opening is formed into a plurality of slits arranged in lateral direction.
