PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the stability of a gold - tin alloy plating bath of a non- cyanic system and to adequately make gold and thin eutectoid. SOLUTION: This gold - tin alloy plating bath of the non-cyanic system contains (a) a non-cyanic soluble gold salt, such as gold sulfite salt and gold thiosulfite salt, (b) a soluble tin (II) salt, (c) a complexing agent of gold consisting of a sulfureous compound selected from sulfites, thiosulfates, thiocyanates, oxyalkylene sulfide compounds, carboxylic acid sulfide compounds, mercapto-alcoholic compounds and mercapto-carboxylic acid compounds, and (d) a complexing agent of tin selected from oxycarboxylic acids, amino- carboxylic acids, and polyamines. The specific sulfureous compounds, such as sulfite, thiodiglycol, thiodiglycolic acid, thioglycolic acid, and thioglycol, is used for the complexing agent of gold and oxycarboxylic acids, etc., are used for the complexing agent of tin and therefore the stability of the bath is excellent and the gold - tin alloy film can be formed by the adequate composition.
