摘要

A disc drive (10) comprising an optical pickup (12) and a DSP (28) and irradiating the recording face of a disc recording medium (100) with laser beams y means of the optical pickup. When the time required for seek (access time) is shorter than the time required for altering the r.p.m. (alteration time), the DSP does not perform alteration of r.p.m. and seek simultaneously but delays seek by ‖access time − alteration time‖ and performs recording or reproduction upon finishing alteration of r.p.m.
