SYSTEM FOR MANAGING OPERATING STATE OF DEVICE USING PERSONAL PORTABLE TERMINAL

PURPOSE: A system for managing an operating state of a device using a personal portable terminal is provided to enable an operator to input the current state value of devices in each field equipment using a PDA(Personal Digital Assistant). CONSTITUTION: An operator inputs the current state value from each field equipment using a PDA(120). A client computer(110) manages communication between the PDA(120) and a server(100). The server(100) includes an authentication program(102) for authenticating an identification tag and a password of the operator being transmitted from the PDA(120) and a viewer program(104) for displaying data on a screen as a format wanted by a user. In addition, the server(100) includes a device information database(106) for storing data with respect to a field equipment and an operator information database(108) for storing data with respect to the operator. A link program(112) connects the PDA(120) with the server(100). A data receiving program(122) requests an authentication with respect to the operator to the server(100) and receiving necessary data. A data input program(124) enables the operator to input a current state value of a field equipment in accordance with the received data. A data transmission program(126) transmits the data inputted by the operator to the server(100).
