In some weaving mills it is standard practice that at the emptying of only one of a large number of yarn bobbins, replacement is made for many other bobbins even though they are not quite empty. For reuse of yarn remnant blocks as well as bobbin tubes ('rolls'), axial cutting up of the yarn remnant for separating it from the roll has been initiated, but this operation is complicated by the use of may different sizes of rolls of both cylindric and conical shape. The invention indicates a very simple technique for solving this problem, namely that a support rod (10) is used, which is thinner than the least inner diameter of the current rolls (2, 6), as the roll is brought to inside abutment against this rod (10), and the cutting of the yarn remnant (4) is performed in parallel with the rod (10) at a distance therefrom corresponding to the wall thickness of the roll (2, 6) itself; this is largely the same for all roll types, and thereby the simple device concerned will be applicable universally.
|
