A transmission apparatus maintenance system comprising a transmission apparatus;a monitor control apparatus connected through a private monitor control network to the transmission apparatus for monitoring the transmission apparatus;and a terminal apparatus connected to the transmission apparatus for maintaining the transmission apparatus.When the monitor control apparatus receives the notice of a trouble from the transmission apparatus,it gives through the monitor control network to the transmission apparatus an instruction for maintaining the transmission apparatus to eliminate the trouble.The transmission apparatus gives the instruction sent from the monitor control apparatus to the terminal apparatus.The transmission apparatus receives from the terminal apparatus a response to the instruction sent from the monitor control apparatus and forwards the response through the monitor control network to the monitor control apparatus.
