PURPOSE: A device and method for converting an information transmission mode of an electronic document display device is provided to convert information into a text or a voice and output the converted information in accordance with a predetermined operation when transmitting contents information as a voice or a text mode using an electronic document display device. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(104) converts text information or voice information into voice information or text information in accordance with a key operation and outputs the information. A character/voice converting program(106) converts text information and voice information interactively in accordance with the control operation of the control unit(104). A memory(110) stores the contents information. A keypad module unit(102) operates a key for converting information and adjusts a speed or a tone of voice information. A progress display unit(108) displays a progressing state when the voice information is output. The information transmission mode converting device(100) is supplied integrally or separately to an electronic document display device(120).
