The driver plate has an elliptical disc body and an edge ring with grip surface set into a peripheral groove (5) in the disc. The ring consists of one or more ring sections (10,10') fitted into the groove with plug parts (11,11'), and held against slipping or falling- out via fasteners. These consist of screws or bolts, which extend through aligned bores (8) in disc body and edge ring sections.
