PURPOSE: A transporting apparatus for paper of a printer is provided to simplify a structure by transmitting power of a driving unit to first and second feed rollers with one gear train structure and to prevent paper from overlapping by controlling the second feed roller. CONSTITUTION: A transporting apparatus for paper of a printer has a pick-up roller assembly; a first feed roller; a second feel roller; an overlapping feed preventing device and a gear train(100). The gear train has a revolving gear(42), a driving gear(43) of a pick-up roller, a driving gear(44) of a feed roller, a power switching device(45), first and second idle gears(46,47), a pick-up roller gear(48) and first and second power transmitting gears(110,120). The revolving gear is meshed to a gear of a driving unit. Driving gears of the pick-up roller and the feed roller are installed to a shaft(42a) of the revolving gear and controlled by the power switching device. First and second idle gears are arranged between the driving gear of the feed roller and a first feed roller gear(12). The pick-up roller gear is geared to the driving gear of the pick-up roller. The first power transmitting gear is installed to a first feed roller shaft to be revolvable. The second power transmitting gear is installed more than one to transmit power of the first power transmitting gear to a second feed roller gear(22). Consequently, a structure is simple, and paper on a front end of the roller is not fed between first and second feed rollers.
