X-ray device with a first storage unit for storage of a number of recording parameter sets. A recording parameter set is called up from the storage unit. The parameter set is used, with possible modifications by a user, to record an X-ray image with the modified parameter set stored in a second storage unit. Based on analysis of the X-ray image and how often an initial selected parameter set from the first storage unit is changed, the changed parameter set can be used to replace the initially selected parameter set.
