The positioning process is for setting a new cutting program. The cutter holders (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) on the cutter beam (9) in the old cutting position are moved by a displacement device (11) towards a parking zone on the end of the beam. The last cutter holder is released when it reaches its new cutting position. The other cutter holders are then pushed further, and those not required are stacked in the parking zone.
