PET(polyethylene terephthalate) is plasticized in a twin screw compounding extruder(1) and alternately fed to two injection cylinders(13,14) to maintain high production rates. Preferred Features: Polymer in one cylinder is injected into a molding tool(24,25) to produce preforms(29) used in molding containers while the other cylinder is refilled via a valve(15).
