PURPOSE: A tape guide device of a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus is provided to automatically adjust the height of a tape even with a simple structure. CONSTITUTION: A tape guide device of a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus includes a sub-deck(40) and a review arm unit(50). The sub-deck is installed on a main deck(30) in which a head drum and capstan axis are set. The review arm unit is placed on the sub-deck and guides a tape running to the capstan axis. The review arm unit is composed of an arm(51) and a guide shaft(53). The arm is rotated in a predetermined direction when the sub-deck is loaded/unloaded. The guide shaft is fixed to the arm and has a sloped face to guide the running tape while automatically adjusting the height of the tape.
