PURPOSE: A catalyst for reduction reacting a heterocyclic compound, the catalyst comprising rhodium and aluminum oxide as active principles is provided, and a reduction method of heterocyclic compound for reducing hetero atoms by adding the catalyst to the heterocyclic compound under solvent and hydrogen pressurization is provided. CONSTITUTION: The catalyst for reduction reacting a heterocyclic compound comprises rhodium and aluminum oxide as active principles, wherein the aluminum oxide is contained in a 0.01 to 0.5 equivalent for rhodium, and the heterocyclic compound is (2R,4R)-4-methyl-1-£N1-nitro-N2-(3-methyl-8-quinoline sulfonyl)-L-arginyl|-2-piperidine carboxylic acid. The reduction method of heterocyclic compound is characterized in that hetero atoms are reduced by adding the catalyst comprising rhodium and aluminum oxide as active principles to the heterocyclic compound under solvent and hydrogen pressurization, wherein the aluminum oxide is added in a 0.01 to 0.5 equivalent for rhodium, wherein the rhodium is added in a 0.05 to 0.5 equivalent for the heterocyclic compound, wherein the hydrogen is pressurized to 1 to 30 atm, and wherein the heterocyclic compound is (2R,4R)-4-methyl-1-£N1-nitro-N2-(3-methyl-8-quinoline sulfonyl)-L-arginyl|-2-piperidine carboxylic acid.
