The cupboard (1) has upper and lower compartments. The clothes lifting frame (6) has swinging arms (7,8) pivoted (10,11) on the side walls (2,3) of the cupboard near the floor of the upper compartment. The ends of the swinging arms are connected together by a horizontal rod (9) which accommodates several coat hangers. When the arms and rod are in their raised position, the rod fits just under the roof of the cupboard (5). The frame is raised by a wire reeled in by a motor and may be swung down and forward to bring the rod and coat hangers within reach of a person standing on the floor.
