The crutch may be of the usual shape but may have a flexible plastics or rubber suction cup (3) to allow it to be temporarily fastened to a table top. A metal rod (2) engages a ring or loop in the top of the suction cup and projects from a ring (4) which encircles the shaft of the crutch. The ring is clamped onto the shaft by a wing nut (1).
