PURPOSE: A data processing system having an editing function and a data editing method for the system are provided to edit an image with the data processing system without using an external apparatus. CONSTITUTION: An image corresponding to read input data is displayed to a user(10). The user judges whether or not the image is edited(12). When it is judged that the image is edited, a portion to be edited is extracted from the image(14). The extracted portion of the image is edited(16). The extracted portion of the image or the portion of the image other than the extracted portion is deleted. The extracted portion of the image is corrected. Data the user desires is inserted into the extracted portion of the image. Printing or copying is performed using the edited result.
