PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to design a liquid crystal display in a manner that capacitance of an upper substrate is identical to capacitance of a lower substrate to obtain uniform charge distribution so as to stably operate the liquid crystal display. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display includes the first and second substrates(100,150), and a common electrode(148) and a pixel electrode(103) formed on the first and second substrates to drive a liquid crystal layer. The liquid crystal display further includes a plurality of first dielectric layer patterns(146) formed on the common electrode to distort electric field, the second dielectric layer(105) that is formed on the pixel electrode and has the same capacitance as the capacitance of the first dielectric layer patterns, and an alignment film(107,144) formed on each of the first and second dielectric layers. |
