The net unit (1) has an upper net rod (6) passing through the mesh (7), and two opposite side guides (5) for the rod. The net rod is connected to at least one elastic traction element, e.g. a rubber band, to pull it upward from a lower into an upper position. The storage compartment is located in the side of boot space lining. It is not completely closed by the net when it is in upper position, but a space for access remains above the net. Each rod guide has an upper stop with buffer with limit rod movement, and there is a spring to lock the rod in a lower position.
