The seat has a height-adjustable head restraint with a locking device, which engages positively with a guide element in the backrest. A device (9,18,32,34,43,44) moves the head restraint (5) from a first extended position (I) into a second retracted position via a Bowden cable (49,50), when the backrest is tilted forward. The locking device (18) is released manually via an actuator element (22), and is connected detachable to a driver element (32) via a spring element (30).
