PURPOSE: A pitch removal apparatus for removing pitch included in ammonia liquid generated from ammonia distillation column in chemical conversion plant of an iron works is provided. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus(1) installed between ammonia distillation column(130) of chemical conversion process and ammonia liquid suction pump(160) to remove pitch included in ammonia liquid, the apparatus for removing pitch included in the ammonia liquid passing through the ammonia distillation column comprises first pitch removal part(10) comprising first tank(20) which is connected to the ammonia distillation column(130) and is capable of steam cleaning, a cooling means(30) for cooling the pitch included in the ammonia liquid (A5) flown into the tank(20) through the ammonia distillation column(130), and first collection tank(40) installed at the lower part of the tank(20) to collect the cooled pitch; and second pitch removal part(50) comprising second tank(60) which is connected to the first tank(20) of the first pitch removal part(10), connected to the ammonia liquid suction pump(160), and is capable of steam cleaning, a filter means(70) installed inside the second tank(60) to secondly remove the cooled pitch in flowing ammonia liquid, and second collection tank(80) connected to the lower part of the second tank(60) to collect the filtered pitch.
