PURPOSE: A transporting apparatus for paper of a printer is provided to reduce the number of parts and simplify a structure by controlling a pick-up roller and first and second feed rollers with one power switching device and a one-low gear train and to prevent paper from overlapping though first and second feed rollers are in idle. CONSTITUTION: A transporting apparatus for paper of a printer has a pick-up roller; first and second feed rollers(10,20); a first overlap preventing device(30); a gear train and a second overlap preventing device(200). The second overlap preventing device has a damper gear(210), a swing arm(220) and a swing gear(230). The damper gear is installed to be separated from a second feed roller gear(22) at regular intervals with rotating load. The swing arm swings along a rotating direction of a second feed roller shaft(21). The swing gear is installed to an end of the swing arm to be geared to the second feed roller gear. The swing gear adds rotating load to the second feed roller gear by being geared to the damper gear with swing of the swing arm. Therein, the second overlap preventing device prevents paper from overlapping in idle driving by cutting power of first and second feed rollers.
