PURPOSE: Provided are a ceramic filter having both fouling characteristic and high bacteria removal capability for the suitable use in water purification, and a water purification method using the ceramic filter. CONSTITUTION: The ceramic filter comprises a substrate, a separation layer and an intermediate layer formed between the substrate and the separation layer, the intermediate layer comprising aggregate particles smaller than the aggregate particles for the substrate and larger than the aggregate particles for the separation layer, wherein the intermediate layer is formed by the aggregate particles bonded together with glass frit, and the separation layer is a separation layer made of titania having an average pore size of 0.08 to 1 μm and a thickness of 5 to 20 μm. |
