PURPOSE: A locking device of a side ditch cover for a roadway is provided to simplify the way to lock a side ditch cover without any complex structural modification, therefore to curtail the cost of production. CONSTITUTION: The locking device of a side ditch cover contains: a bearing frame(20) embedded into a water collecting system; a side ditch cover(10) provided with an access hole to be connected into the bearing frame by a locking device(31) containing a locking pin, a spring, a sliding pin, an elastic spring(323) giving pressure on the sliding pin and the hinge promoting stable seating of cover, and a hinge pin(33) assisting the turn of the cover on the axis of the hinge pin during installation or dismantling and, a hinge guide(32) leading the hinge up to the final destination along a sliding groove, then holding the hinge, consequently helping the cover to be tightly locked to the bearing frame or to be separated from the one with an easy handle.
