PURPOSE: A system and a method for managing an IP(Internet Protocol) address of a VoIP(Voice over IP) gateway are provided to prevent that the provision of a voice communication service is delayed and enhance efficiency in system management by managing a port-classified IP address of the VoIP gateway in a remote place. CONSTITUTION: An EMS(Element Management System)(21) transmits a port number of a port to set or change an IP address and an IP address process command message including a new IP address, and receives an IP address process result message corresponding to the IP address process command message. A VoIP gateway(23) receives the IP address process command message from the EMS(21), analyzes the received IP address process command message, sets or changes an IP address of a corresponding port, and transmits the IP address process result message to the EMS(21).
