PURPOSE: An apparatus for removing impurities from an oil control section and a method therefor are provided to remove impurities introduced into the oil control section when a continuously variable valve timing device is operated without separating the oil control section from the continuously variable valve timing device. CONSTITUTION: An impurity removing apparatus includes a transmission lever position detecting sensor(210), a vehicle speed sensor(220), an engine R.P.M detecting sensor(230), a memory section(250) and a control section(240). The transmission lever position detecting sensor detects a position of a transmission lever in a vehicle, thereby generating an electric signal corresponding to a detected position of the transmission lever. The memory section includes a ROM and a RAM and stores a predetermined engine R.P.M for forming predetermined hydraulic pressure in an oil control section(260). The oil control section discharges impurities to an exterior according to a control signal transmitted from the control section.
