A multi-layer film structure (4) for the construction industry, impermeable to steam, has a metal foil (3) as the center layer. The center layer is flanked by layers of insoluble thermoplastic films (2), laminated in place. The outer layers (1) are plastered and/or coated with adhesive using a non-woven, woven fabric, industrial knitted materials, glass fibers, reinforced paper, etc.. The multi-layer material covers a large surface. A self-adhesive layer (6) covers the whole surface, or its is in stripes or local points or only at the edges.
