摘要 PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for driving a high effective plasma display panel for improving voltage stress are provided to reduce the voltage stress by dividing a charging mode and a discharging mode into a pre-charging mode, a post-charging mode, a pre-discharging mode, and a post-discharging mode to form different resonant paths. CONSTITUTION: A sustain driving device of a high effective plasma display panel includes a sustain switching portion(32) and a power collection portion(31). The sustain switching portion connects the first and the second terminals of the power collection portion to a plasma display panel(33) in response to a predetermined sustain discharge sequence. The power collection portion divides a charging mode and a discharging mode into a pre-charging mode, a post-charging mode, a pre-discharging mode, and a post-discharging mode in response to a predetermined power collection sequence. The pre-charging mode, the post-charging mode, the pre-discharging mode, and the post-discharging mode are used for forming different resonant paths to charge and discharge the plasma display panel.
