Oxylated alcohol wax intercalated in smectite clay

An article comprises oxylated alcohol wax intercalated in smectite clay. The wax preferably comprises ethoxylated alcohol wax. The clay may be synthetic and may also be organically modified. The wax intercalated in smectite clay may be dispersed in a polyolefin polymer. The sheet may contain other layers of polymer not containing intercalated smectite, and possibly polyester layer/s. The article may comprise an imaging member. Also claimed is a method of forming an intercalated clay comprising providing smectite clay and combining the clay with ethoxylated alcohol wax and heating the mixture to above the softening point of the wax.
