PURPOSE: A position deciding device of a change gear is provided to reduce the production cost and to improve the workability by simplifying the structure. CONSTITUTION: A shift rail(44) is inserted its both ends in a groove portion(42a) of a change gear case(42). Grooves(44a,44b,44c) are formed in the shift rail in the positions corresponding to a neutral gear and a shift gear. A detent member(46) is arranged between groove portions of the shift rail and the change gear case. The detent member generates friction force at the movement of the shift rail by elastically inserting in one of the grooves. Thereby, the structure is simplified.
