A propulsion unit (1) arranged to propel a waterborne vessel comprises an electric motor (4) arranged to provide propulsion, and a housing (2) arranged to contain the motor. The motor (4) is mounted within the housing (2) on resilient coupling s (10). Such propulsion units are used to propel ships, and the like, and are suspended from beneath the vessel. The resilient couplings reduce the noise emitted by the housing.
