PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical mill capable of well discharging a crushed product to the outside regardless of the properties of a raw material. SOLUTION: The vertical mill is equipped with a speed reducer having a rectangular shape on a plane view arranged on the base in a cylindrical casing, a turntable connected to the speed reducer and arranged so as to leave a gap with the inner periphery of the casing, a roller provided on the upper surface of the turntable in close vicinity to the outer peripheral part thereof and a discharge chute comprising crescent discharge ports provided at both side parts of the speed reducer provided on the base in the casing, vertical walls arranged between the turntable, the speed reducer and the casing and demarcating the interior of the casing along the chords of both discharge ports at a height equal to that of the speed reducer, a chevron-shaped inclined wall extended up to the almost intermediate part of the outer periphery of the turntable with a rising gradient so as to surround the outer periphery of the turntable from the upper edges of both vertical walls and a cylindrical wall vertically provided on the inclined wall and surrounding the outer periphery of the turntable up to the almost intermediate part thereof.
