An electronic timepiece has an operating member supported to undergo reciprocal movement and a drive mechanism for driving the operating member to undergo reciprocal movement. A restricting mechanism for restricting movement of the operating member in a preselected moving range. A controller controls the drive mechanism to correct a shift in the preselected moving range of the operating member.
