PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep an appropriate recording operation by preventing a lowering of the feed accuracy when a decurler for roll paper uses a drive source for a transfer roller for accurately feeding the roll paper to a recording part. SOLUTION: A pinch roller transferring the roll paper has a drive roller gear 121 in its shaft end. A power transmission device 80 is provided with a first power transmission route using a transmission gear 103 and a second power transmission route having a transmission ratio smaller than that of the first power transmission route. A drive motor 81 transmits the power to a paper feed roller accurately feeding the roll paper as well as the power transmission device 80. When the tip part of the roll paper passes through the pinch roller, the maximum load is applied to the pinch roller, and the power transmission device 80 selects the second power transmission route then so as to reduce the load of the drive motor 81.
