PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance user's convenience by making it possible to discriminate the remaining of rice in a rice polisher at the time of power failure or the like without using a backup means by a battery or the like, in the rice polisher capable of dividing the polishing of rice into measuring, rice-washing and discharge processes to automatically perform these processes. SOLUTION: Rice in a rice housing part 1 for housing rice is measured in a measuring part 2 and the rice measured in the measuring part 2 is washed in a rice-washing part 3. After the washing of rice is completed, the rice in the rice-washing part 3 is discharged by a discharge part 4, and the measuring part 2, the rice-washing part 3 and the discharge part 4 are controlled in cooperation with each other by a control part 5. The control part 5 has a non-volatile memory means 7 to store start data in the non-volatile memory means 7 at the time of start of the measuring by the measuring part 2 and erases the start data stored in the non-volatile memory means 7 at the time of completion of discharge by the discharge part 4 and judges the remaining of rice in the rice polisher when the start data of the non-volatile memory means 7 is not erased at the time of non-operation.
