PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent disturbance in the opening and closing operability of an inner lid by holding the inner lid for avoiding repetitive shocks to the shaft journaled between the inner lid and an outer tub cover due to non-closing of the inner lid, and by stabling the fixing of the axis support of the inner lid with respect to a washing and drying machine which has a step of drying the laundry by sending warm air into the inner tub and can perform through every step from washing to drying. SOLUTION: An inner tub for containing the laundry is rotatably supported in an outer tub which is elastically suspended in a housing, and an approximately doughnut-shaped outer tub cover 25 is arranged on the side of the upper opening of the outer tub. An inner opening 28 of the outer tub cover 25 is opened upward and closed by the inner lid 29, and hot air for drying is supplied to the inside of the inner tub by a hot air supplying means. The inner lid 29 is journalled by the outer tub cover 25 on the side opposite to its handle 33. The outer tub cover 25 is also provided with a stopper 46 in such a way that it is opposed to the edge of the inner lid 29 on its shaft side in the horizontal direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
