PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing fullerenes suitable for economic mass production. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing fullerenes, the source hydrocarbon compound is combusted and/or pyrolyzed. The method features that, after the temperature of the source hydrocarbon compound is controlled to≥100°C, the source material is introduced into a high temperature zone where the source hydrocarbon compound is combusted and/or pyrolyzed to produce fullerenes.
