PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor for in situ hybridization by which an organism tissue sample put in the reactor can successively be brought into contact with the other solutions while keeping the sample in a state immersed in the solution and exchange of the solutions can be carried out by only adding the solution and operation can be practiced without causing any problems such as dryness, breakage of the sample and adhesion of foreign matter even when many organ ism tissue samples are treated at once and to provide a method for using the reactor. SOLUTION: This reactor for in situ hybridization is composed of a receiver having a fine-pore plate 2 at the position slightly retreated than the outlet 4 of a hollow pipe 1 and a lid body having a fine-pore plate 6 and capable of inserting into the inner wall of a hollow pipe 1 of the receiver while closely contacting the outer periphery of the fine-pore plate 6 and making it stationary to a desired insertion position by frictional force with the inner wall of pipe of the receiver, and these fine-pore plates 2 and 6 have continuous fine pores having sizes capable of sealing these fine pores with the liquid by capillary tube phenomenon of the liquid.
