<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam welding apparatus capable of obtaining a welded zone with high quality even if a zone to be welded has errors in a groove shape such as a gap or a step. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with a storage means 11 for storing fundamental welding conditions according to the plate thickness such as laser output, welding speed and weaving amplitude for each weld line, and a selecting means 17 for selecting a welding line for welding. The means 11 stores a control amount of a weaving amplitude according to an error in the groove shape for each fundamental welding condition. The control amount of the weaving amplitude according to the fundamental welding condition of the welding line selected by the means 17 and the data detected by an error detecting means 5 is selected from the means 17.
