PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for rolling a metal plate capable of easily supplying an oil-in-water type rolling oil having the most proper lubricating performance for workability of each metal plate when a variety of metal plates with different workability are rolled by the same rolling mill. SOLUTION: The method for rolling the metal plate is characterized in that the method includes a process to separate into an emulsion of the oil-in-water type of the oil content having required lubricating performance and other mixers by centrifugally separating all or a part of the oil-in-water type emulsions, and a process to use other mixers and the nonseparable oil-in-water type emulsions as rolled cooling water, while using the emulsions of the oil-in-water type after separation as the rolling oil, and centrifugal separation is performed under the conditions that the accumulative 80% particle size from the small particle size side of dispersion oil spot included in the emulsions of the oil-in- water type after separation is less than twofold against the accumulative 80% particle size from the small particle size side of dispersion oil spot included in the emulsions of the oil-in-water type at bathing.
