<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse wave propagation speed measuring instrument capable of measuring the pulse wave propagation speed with only small load applied to a subject in a simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: This pulse wave propagation speed measuring instrument is provided with two pairs of voltage electrodes 51a, 51b, 52a, and 52b disposed in prescribed parts of the subject at prescribed intervals apart and constant current electrodes 41 and 42 dispose in both sides of the voltage electrode pairs. First and second impedance conversion parts obtain a voltage waveform expressing a change in an bioelectrical impedance from the respective voltage electrode pairs with a prescribed constant current applied between the constant current electrodes 41 and 42. The pulse wave propagation speed is found by dividing the time deviation of the voltage waveform by a distance L between the voltage electrodes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
