A flow regulator comprises a casing (10) with a hole (12) for the infusion tube (6) to be passed through, a control part (20) for applying pressure to the tube and a holder (30) containing a chamber (32) for locating the infusion needle (8). A flow regulator for connecting to an infusion tube in an intravenous (IV) tube arrangement is used to regulate the flow of liquid through the tube. The IV tube arrangement includes a needle holder (7) at one end of the infusion tube and an infusion needle. The flow regulator has a casing with a length direction hole extending between its front and rear sides for the infusion tube to be passed through. A control part inside the casing can be used to apply pressure to the infusion tube extending through the hole. A holder fixed to the casing contains a chamber for locating the infusion needle, which is inserted into the chamber via an opening (33) in the end of the holder.
