<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide various kinds of surgical appliances, such as diametral expansion appliances, shape reduction appliances, packing appliances, and indentation appliances, which can apply vertebral body compression fracture reduction to the crushed vertebral body and a surgical appliance set combining these appliances. <P>SOLUTION: The surgical appliance set is used for the vertebral body compression fracture redressment and can put the crushed vertebral body 91 into the state shown in Figure 12 by treating the crushed vertebral body 91. This surgical appliance set has a guide rod (diametral expansion appliance) for diametrally expanding a hole 93 formed in the crushed vertebral body 91, a vertical elevator (shape reduction appliance) for reducing the anterior upper part of the crushed vertebral body 91 to a nearly normal position, a horizontal elevator (shape reduction appliance) for reducing the central upper part of the crushed vertebral body 91 to a nearly normal position, an inserter (packing appliance) for packing a packing material 7 into the vertebral body 91 subjected to the reduction and an impactor (indentation appliance) for increasing the density of the packed packing material 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
