<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical arrangement for shortening the total print time in order to sustain superiority of an ink jet printing machine. <P>SOLUTION: An ink dryer for ink jet printing machine comprising a plurality of halogen heaters 41 arranged uniformly with respect to an object, a reflector 42 for reflecting the light from each halogen heater 41 toward the object, and a shutter 43 capable of intercepting the light directed from each halogen heater 41 toward the object is further provided with a section 44 for containing the shutter 43 at a position not receiving the light directly from each halogen heater 41 at normal drying operation, and a shutter drive mechanism 45 for taking out the shutter 43 from the containing section 44 and bringing it into a position for intercepting the light at abnormality. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
