PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping force adjusting mechanism for a steering damper capable of maintaining an operation stability while keeping fine steering feeling. SOLUTION: A controller C consists of a vehicle speed system control signal output part S and a handle system control signal output part H, and a vehicle speed sensor 17 is connected to the output part S and an angle sensor 18 to the output part H. The output part S generates a damping force value DF1 based on the vehicle speed, and the output part H generates a damping force value DF2 or DF3 based on the steering angular speed of a handle bar. Only the value DF1 is normally input to a changeover means 27, and when the steering angular speed exceeds a first or second threshold, the value DF2 or DF3 is also input to the changeover means 27.
