<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a freshness-keeping packaging material forming a film having a uniform gas-permeability, keeping freshness of vegetables and fruits irrespective of their respiration rate. <P>SOLUTION: This freshness-keeping packaging material has 6,500-9,500 cm<SP>3</SP>/ m<SP>2</SP>.day.atm oxygen gas-permeability at 23°C and 80%RH, 23,000-38,000 cm<SP>3</SP>/ m<SP>2</SP>.day.atm carbon dioxide gas-permeability at 23°C and 80%RH and 8-35 g/m<SP>2</SP>.day.atm steam-permeability, wherein the ratio of the carbon dioxide gas- permeability to the oxygen gas-permeability (CO<SB>2</SB>/O<SB>2</SB>) is 3.5-4.1. The packaged body of vegetables or fruits, applied the freshness-keeping packaging material, is provided.
