PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping force adjusting mechanism for a steering damper capable of maintaining an operation stability while keeping fine steering feeling. SOLUTION: A controller C consists of a vehicle speed system control signal output part S and a front fork system control signal output part F, and a vehicle speed sensor 17 is connected to the output part S and a stroke position sensor 18 to the output part F. The output part F generates a damping force value DF2 or DF3 based on the stroke signal of the front fork, and the output part S generates a damping force value DF1 based on the vehicle speed. Only the value DF1 is normally input to a changeover means 27, and when the stroke speed exceeds a first or second threshold, the value DF2 or DF3 is also input to the changeover means 27.
