<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly break a shielding member with a breaking part in an airbag covering a window section in an automobile. <P>SOLUTION: An airbag body 31 folded into a slender shape is covered with the shielding member 33 to retain the folded shape. The airbag body 31 is folded so as to fit a conduit part 65 communicating with a gas inlet and a collection part 66 communicating with the conduit part 65. The shielding member 33 is formed with the slit-shaped breaking part 74 which is directed to the inside of a vehicle compartment and faces the conduit part 65. When gas is introduced into the airbag body 31, the conduit part 65 inflates and deploy to break the breaking part 74.
