<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-energy beverage which has proper sweetness and is readily drinkable in spite of having high calories, from which sufficient calories can be taken with a small amount and which can be expected to effectively improve endurance. <P>SOLUTION: This beverage contains maltooligosaccharide, dextrin and an acidulant, has a glucide composition of ≤15 mass % of a glucide having 1-2 glucose polymerization degree, 50-70 mass % of a glucide having 3-9 glucose polymerization degree, 25-50 mass % of a glucide having ≥10 glucose polymerization degree, 50-70 sucrose concentration and ≥200 kcal calorie value based on 100 g beverage.
